These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Quiet Signal mobile app and the quietsignal.co.uk website (together, the “Service”), operated by Valentigo (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Quiet Signal is
Quiet Signal is a self-guided, non-clinical wellness tool that lets you log daily check-ins (Pain, Anxiety, Energy), keep a private journal, and optionally share check-ins with people you choose.
Quiet Signal is not a medical device, is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care, and does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any condition. It is not a crisis or emergency response service. The in-app Support/Crisis screen lists third-party crisis lines and emergency numbers for your convenience; we do not monitor your activity in real time and cannot guarantee any response to a crisis. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services immediately.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Quiet Signal. By using the Service, you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@quietsignal.co.uk if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. You may delete your account at any time in Settings; this permanently deletes your data as described in our Privacy Notice.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or our systems;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service’s operation;
- use the sharing feature to send content to someone without a good-faith belief they are willing to receive it.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Sharing feature
When you share a check-in, we generate a link that lets the recipient view the shared content without logging in. You are solely responsible for choosing who you share with and for the consequences of sharing that link further. Treat share links as sensitive, personal information.
6. Subscriptions (Quiet Signal Pro)
Quiet Signal Pro is an optional paid tier offering additional features (extended history view, more share recipients, custom backgrounds, CSV export). Where Pro is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that purchase is billed and processed by Apple or Google under their respective terms, including auto-renewal and cancellation policies – refer to your Apple ID or Google Play account settings to manage or cancel your subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their own policies, not by us directly. Pro status affects only how far back you can view your history; it does not change how long your underlying data is retained (see our Privacy Notice).
7. Intellectual property
The Quiet Signal app, website, branding, and underlying software are owned by Valentigo or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the content you create (your check-ins and journal entries); you grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Notice.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any insight, theme, or trend it generates is clinically accurate or appropriate for any individual’s circumstances.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Valentigo will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in this section removes any statutory rights you may have as a consumer in your country of residence.
